Since the arrival of Counting Colors, I have encountered many women who have been impacted by infertility, loss, or adoption. And many of them have expressed the fact that they don’t feel understood, don’t feel they have a voice.
Grief and hard places can be isolating, can make you feel stuck, like a Ferris wheel arcing up and around only to stop at a place you don’t want to be, dangling you in midair, perhaps the car swaying, as you hold on tight. You might be at the back, with no good vantage point. Or you might want to be at the top where you can see for miles around. Maybe the wheel doesn’t stop at the bottom and circles around again. Or perhaps you’re ready for your ride to end, to get off, only to be stuck just above the ground.
But we don’t have to do it alone.
In the next few weeks, myferriswheel will feature an ongoing interview series, Stuck in Midair, with women who are or who have been impacted by these hard places. My hope is to give voice to our very personal journeys and help others understand us in the process.
If you would like to participate, I would love to hear from you.
